If you’ve always loved animals and have a passion for working with them, had pets along the way or worked in animal care, it may be time to transform your enthusiasm into a profession. Pet care is highly popular as pet owners are always on the lookout for trustworthy and reliable pet carers. Pet owners want the best care for their pets, and it has to be the right person that their pet will get along with, trust and engage with. Pet owners prefer one to one attention and a pet carer is usually able to provide this service. The Certificate in Pet Care at QLS Level 3 is an in-depth course on everything you need to know about animal care, and what type of role you want to play in this industry, including setting up your own pet care business. You will be equipped with the appropriate skills and understanding of how to be a successful pet carer.
Pet owners may not always be able to spend all of their time with their pet. They too have busy lifestyles and as such a pet carer is the best choice. The course will discuss a number of key topics including an introduction to animal care, provide basic care for dogs, cats, birds and freshwater fish. Each module will be explored in-depth to ensure the learner gains a complete understanding of the subject matter.
The Certificate in Pet Care at QLS Level 3 will give you the confidence and skills to set up a pet care service. The qualification will also enable you to progress in your career in the pet care industry.

- Learners should be over the age of 16 and have a basic knowledge in Maths, English and ICT
- You should have a deep love and care for animals, relative knowledge and experience with having your own pets or working as a pet sitter or carer
The course will be directly delivered to you, and you have 12 months access to the online learning platform from the date you joined the course. The course is self-paced and you can complete it in stages, revisiting the lectures at any time.
At the end of the Certificate in Pet Care at QLS Level 3, learners will be evaluated through a MCQ test at the end of the unit, or at the completion of the course.
Those who successfully complete the course will be issued the Certificate in Pet Care at QLS Level 3 by the Quality Licence Scheme.
