Overview

Dementia refers to the group of symptoms related to the decline in memory or other thinking skills that can be severe enough to interfere with the daily activities of a person. The first most common type of dementia is the Alzheimer’s disease, that constitutes for around 60 to 80 percent of dementia cases, followed by Vascular dementia that occurs after a stroke. There are other conditions that causes symptoms of dementia as well such as thyroid problems and vitamin deficiencies. Many Dementia types are progressive and the early diagnosis of such Dementia cases can help the person derive maximum benefits from the available treatments and to buy them enough time to plan their future.

Most Dementia symptoms are hard to detect in the early stages, but if you notice symptoms that might hint Dementia, it is important for you to consult a doctor to get the appropriate treatment. Most of the dementia cases do not have any cure or permanent treatment, however, there are drug treatments that are available to temporarily improve the symptoms. If you are person dealing with Dementia patients, it is important for you to be acquainted with its symptoms and medication in order to act accordingly. However, awareness of Dementia might benefit anyone irrespective of their professions. This course Award in awareness of Dementia – Level 3 will introduce you into the world of Dementia by exposing you to its symptoms and processes. Entry requirements
  • Learners should be age 19 or over, and must have a basic understanding of Maths, English, and ICT.
  • A recognised qualification at level 2 or above in any discipline.
Method of assessmentIn order to complete the Award in Awareness of Dementia – Level 3 successfully and gain your professional qualification, all students are required to complete a series of assignments. The completed assignments must be submitted via the online portal. Your instructor will review and evaluate your work and provide your feedback based on how well you have completed your assignments.

Please Note: Additionally, £159 (Inc. VAT) is charged for assessment and certificate and you need to pay that when you are submitting your assessments only (It is not required to pay initially when you are registering). This payment can be paid into 01 installments when you are submitting your assessments.

CertificationThose who successfully complete the course will be awarded the Level 3 Award in awareness of Dementia by ABC Awards. It will make you valuable to employers, and your motivation at gaining new skills will be recognised.
