The course curriculum is also very compact with videos that will explore the alphabet, fingerspelling and names in the BSL, in addition to insight into the different ways to greet people using the language.

The videos are engaging and will demonstrate how to ask questions, how to make statements, how to express colours, animals, numbers, time, money, year, places and many more using the sign language, making this course an excellent opportunity for you to work with people with mutism or hearing disorders. The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards and Certa Awards Quality Licence Scheme. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. This course is delivered through a system that you will have access to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 365 days (12 months). As this is an online course, you have no set timetable and can study at your own pace. Move through the modules as fast or slow as you wish, and return to previous sections at any point.

In order to complete the Level 1 Certificate in British Sign Language successfully , all students are required to complete a series of assignments. The completed assignments must be submitted via the online portal. Your instructor will review and evaluate your work and provide your feedback based on how well you have completed your assignments.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from ABC Awards and Certa Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
