The Diploma in Chlorination at QLS Level 4 Chlorination will teach learners about chlorination and the history of chlorination. It refers to the process of adding chlorine or hypochlorite in order to achieve certain objectives. The most widely used form of chlorination is water chlorination and refers to the process of adding chlorine or hypochlorite to water in order to kill certain bacteria or microbes present. The main goal of water chlorination is to prevent the spread of waterborne disease such as cholera, dysentery and typhoid. Although chlorination cannot inactive all microbes, it is highly effective in killing many viruses and bacteria present in water.

The course will cover disinfection essentials and the byproducts of disinfections. You will learn about oxidation chemistry and oxidation agents. The course will also enlighten learners on chlorine exposure limits, chlorination equipment requirements and chlorine health hazards. Additionally, the course will teach learners on safe drinking water act and disinfection byproducts regulations.
