Earn a career credential that demonstrates your expertise
Earn a career credential that demonstrates your expertise through structured modules covering the core skills and knowledge for this qualification.Successful organisational change requires more than a good idea. It takes careful preparation, effective planning and the ability to bring people along throughout the process. The CMI Bitesize course, Initiating and Planning Change, is part of the Managing Change series developed by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). This short professional development course introduces you to the practical approaches needed to prepare for and plan organisational change.
Through this short change management course, you will explore why organisations change and why structured planning is essential for successful outcomes. You will become familiar with practical tools such as the Beckhard-Harris Change Equation, stakeholder power and interest analysis, and Porter's Five Forces. You will also learn how to identify potential risks, address barriers to change and support employees through organisational transitions. Three reflective activities allow you to consider how these approaches can be applied in your own workplace. The course is suitable for managers, team leaders and professionals, including those new to change management.
With Global Edulink, you can complete this CMI Bitesize change management course fully online and at your own pace. You will have three months of access to the learning materials, giving you flexibility to study around your work and personal commitments. Once you complete the required learning activities, you will receive a CMI Certificate of Achievement for your Continuing Professional Development (CPD). There are no national entry requirements, and the course is open to learners aged 18 and above. There are also no formal examinations, allowing you to focus on the learning activities and practical application of the subject.
The knowledge gained from this CMI professional development course may support career development towards roles such as Team Leader, Project Coordinator or Change Management Coordinator, depending on your experience and additional qualifications. Completing three eligible CMI Bitesize topics may also contribute towards the requirements for Foundation Chartered Manager status, subject to CMI membership and eligibility criteria. You can continue your development through other Managing Change courses or explore CMI Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications in Management and Leadership. Build the knowledge to approach organisational change with greater confidence and preparation.
