Course Overview

Fairness and inclusion in the workplace start with the decisions leaders make and the culture they create. The CMI Level 7 Award in Strategic Approaches to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (RQF) helps senior professionals develop a strategic approach to building fairer, more inclusive organisations. Awarded by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and regulated by Ofqual, this qualification is designed for leaders who want to make equality, diversity and inclusion a meaningful part of organisational strategy.

Through this Level 7 equality, diversity and inclusion course, you'll explore structural inequality, relevant legal requirements such as the Equality Act 2010, and the moral, financial and legal arguments for improving workplace inclusion. You'll also learn how to establish strategic priorities and develop a plan to put them into practice. The award is suited to practising and aspiring senior managers, directors, chief executives and HR leaders. You don't need to work in HR to benefit from this qualification.

With Global Edulink, you can study this CMI Level 7 equality, diversity and inclusion qualification online around your professional commitments. At approximately two hours per day, you could complete the guided learning in around 12 days. Mentor support gives you an opportunity to discuss your ideas as you progress, while a written assignment allows you to apply your learning using real data from your own organisation. There are no formal examinations, helping you focus on developing practical knowledge you can use in the workplace.

Completing this Level 7 EDI qualification may support career ambitions in senior leadership, including roles such as Head of Diversity and Inclusion or Director of People and Culture, depending on your experience. You can also continue your studies through the CMI Level 7 Strategic Management and Leadership suite, progressing towards a Certificate or Diploma. Other potential routes include further CMI qualifications and higher education study. By developing a more strategic approach to inclusion, you can help create a workplace where people are treated fairly and have the opportunity to contribute.
