What is a Ketogenic Diet?

Long story short, a keto diet is one that a low-carb, high-fat option, that can offer you many health benefits. Wait, was that high-fat you just read? Yes it was. But how can that work right? They have also been associated with combatting diabetes, cancer, epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease, all of which, are debilitating. Keto diet recipes drastically reduce your carbohydrate intake and replace it with fats. This reduction in your carb intake sends your body into a metabolic state called ketosis.

What happens in ketosis?

Your body now becomes super-efficient at burning fat for energy. It also turns this fat into ketones in the liver, and that, can provide enough energy to your brain. Ketogenic diets can greatly reduce that blood sugar and insulin in your blood. It also has many other health benefits along with ketosis.
