Stay Ahead in Safety
Understanding and managing hazardous substances is vital for maintaining a safe and compliant workplace. This COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) online course provides guidance on identifying and controlling exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace. But what exactly are Substances Hazardous to Health?
Legally, these substances are classified as “very toxic, toxic, harmful, corrosive, or irritant” under the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation. This regulation, introduced in January 2009, aligns with the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals) Regulation, a European Union framework that came into effect on June 1st, 2007. REACH aims to ensure high-level protection of human health and the environment by regulating the use of chemicals in workplaces. This COSHH training will help you understand the risks associated with hazardous substances, how to minimise exposure, and the legal requirements for compliance. Additionally, it covers essential topics such as risk assessment procedures, workplace safety measures, and best practices for handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous substances.
Whether you work directly with chemicals or oversee workplace safety, this course equips you with the necessary knowledge to ensure a safe and legally compliant work environment.
