The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) is awarded by Pearson BTEC and designed for candidates to acquire the training required to progress into employment as a teacher or trainer. It is a profession that is in high demand, making teaching a reliable, rewarding and long-lasting career opportunity. The qualification is suitable for learners who want to focus on the practical aspect of teaching or those already teaching but want to have their experience accredited.

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) will enable individuals to work in a teaching or training role and progress toward a broader teaching qualification. The objective of this course is to prepare trainee teachers and confirm their occupational competence within the workplace. The training will help learners reflect and evaluate their current teaching role and develop and enhance teaching skills further. Once you achieve the CET qualification, you can work as a teacher, trainer or tutor in adult and community education, educational colleges, the voluntary sector, public sector or commerce industry.

For the duration of this course, the support team is available 24/7, to assist and guide you until the successful completion of the course. You will be assessed by a qualified Assessor and the Programme Support Department will provide any additional assistance and support. From the point of registration, you will receive full access to all course materials, tutorials and videos.

The course will be directly delivered to you, and you have 6 months access to the online learning platform from the date you joined the course.  The course is self-paced and you can complete it in stages, revisiting the lectures at anytime.
This course is assessed by written assignment, learners must complete several written assignments and teaching sessions, which can be submitted on recorded video (the number of written/practical assignments you will need to complete depends upon which optional units you choose). All assignments must be submitted to the online portal within six months of the course start.
The Pearson BTEC Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training prepares trainee teachers and trainers to teach in a wide range of contexts. To achieve the qualification, there is a requirement for teaching practice that requires observation and assessment of performance. The qualification can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers and trainers, including:
