Essential Safety Training for the Workplace
Slips, trips, and falls are among the most common causes of workplace injuries, but with the right knowledge and preventive measures, they can be effectively minimised. The Slips, Trips, and Falls course is designed to provide complete training on the risks associated with these hazards and the safety controls that can be implemented to prevent accidents. This course begins by outlining the relevant laws surrounding slips, trips, and falls, including how OSHA establishes federal standards for hazard identification, prevention, and compliance. You will learn about the main risk control areas and discover how to choose the most suitable non-slip sole treads, including the optimal depths and patterns for different work environments. One of the unique aspects of this course is the focus on creating the slips, trips, and falls map, an effective tool for identifying hazards and developing tailored safety controls. You will also receive expert guidance on estimating slip risks on various flooring types, including practical testing methods to enhance workplace safety.
Management plays a pivotal role in maintaining a safe work environment. This course explores how to design and implement safety initiatives, including effective maintenance routines, strategic cleaning practices, and the use of warning signs, barriers, and fall protection equipment. Additionally, it emphasises the importance of employee responsibilities in maintaining a safe workplace, highlighting the role of good housekeeping practices in preventing accidents. Additionally, the course examines the human factors that contribute to slips, trips, and falls, including physical attributes like age, strength, and physical fitness, as well as behavioural aspects like complacency and overconfidence. By understanding these factors, both employers and employees can take proactive steps to reduce risks. This Slips, Trips, and Falls E-Learning course is pivotal for any workplace seeking to enhance safety standards and reduce accidents.
