Emergency first aid is the immediate assistance provided in response to an incident, before professional medical help arrives. While many of us encounter only minor injuries in our day-to-day lives, such as applying a plaster to a small cut, it’s important to be prepared for more serious situations. In the event of a major emergency, knowing what to do can make a significant difference. This Emergency First Aid for Irish Audiences course is designed to help you understand how to respond in various emergency scenarios. It will guide you through the common situations you might face and the appropriate actions to take to assist those in need.
This course is specifically tailored for employees in workplaces who want to enhance or develop their first aid skills, particularly in work environments. In serious situations, a first aider’s primary role is to quickly assess the scene, relay vital information to emergency services, and take immediate action to improve the patient’s chances of survival. This is a CPD-certified programme that demonstrates ongoing personal and professional development, enhancing employability within health and social care settings.
