Care homes are owned and managed by a diverse range of organisations, including local authorities, the NHS, and private and voluntary sector providers. Unlike traditional workplaces, care homes serve as both professional environments and the personal living spaces of their residents. As such, they must uphold the dignity and independence of those in their care while ensuring that health and safety are effectively managed. Achieving this balance requires a clear understanding of responsibilities among all staff members.
This Health and Safety in a Care Setting online course provides essential guidance on the legislation governing care homes, outlining the responsibilities of both management and employees. It explores the development of safe working practices, equipping you with the knowledge to handle common workplace hazards and emergency situations. Additionally, the course addresses key aspects of the work environment, including staff welfare, to promote a safe, supportive, and compliant care setting for both residents and employees. This is a CPD-certified programme that demonstrates ongoing personal and professional development, enhancing employability within health and social care settings.
