Safety Starts with Awareness
Asbestos is one of the most hazardous materials ever used in construction. Each year, thousands of individuals suffer from asbestos-related diseases, with many ultimately losing their lives due to exposure. Despite its known dangers, asbestos was commonly used in building materials until its widespread ban in 2000 within the construction industry. To help mitigate these risks, the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) applies to employers, employees, the self-employed, and other duty holders who are involved with asbestos-containing materials. Regulation 10 of CAR mandates that employers must provide adequate training, information, and instruction to employees who are at risk of exposure to asbestos, including maintenance workers and others who may unknowingly disturb asbestos during their duties.
This Asbestos Awareness course is designed to raise awareness about the dangers of working with asbestos, equipping you with the knowledge to identify materials that may contain asbestos and where they are commonly used. This course also covers practical steps to minimise exposure risks and outlines the legislation that governs safe handling of asbestos. You will have a complete understanding of the risks associated with asbestos, helping to identify potential hazards and avoid situations. This Asbestos Awareness course is beneficial to both workers and supervisors to maintain safety in environments where asbestos may be present. This course is accredited by leading industry bodies, including IIRSM, Gatehouse Awards, CPD, and IATP, ensuring it meets high standards of safety training.
