Your Guide to Electrical Safety
Electricity is an essential part of modern life, powering everything from workplaces to entertainment. As our dependence on it grows, so does the need for awareness of its potential dangers. Unlike other hazards, electricity is invisible and undetectable until direct contact occurs, making it a silent yet serious risk. The Electrical Safety course introduces the vital role of electricity in society while breaking down its core components including voltage, current, and resistance. This course explores the two primary types of electricity, provides insight into UK accident and fatality statistics, and introduces an easy-to-remember method for identifying electrical hazards. Additionally, it offers fundamental guidance on safely assisting someone who may have suffered an electric shock.
This course outlines key regulations, standards, and safety guidelines governing electricity in the workplace. It also covers essential maintenance practices, including portable appliance testing (PAT), and highlights who within an organisation should conduct various electrical safety checks. Understanding electrical safety is crucial for protecting employees and ensuring compliance with workplace safety requirements. With IIRSM and IOSH approval, this course is an excellent resource for professionals looking to demonstrate ongoing development in electrical safety practices.
