Building Safe Foundations
Every year in the UK, many individuals are injured, become ill, or even lose their lives while performing their duties. As a result, health and safety remains a critical concern across all industries. The government, employers, and employees must collaborate to minimise fatalities, accidents, and work-related illnesses. This Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course is designed for those entering the construction industry. It is an excellent starting point for new workers, offering valuable insight into safety protocols and legal requirements. It can be used as part of an employee’s induction process. While this course provides a recognised qualification on its own, it also supports the application for a CSCS Green Card, a valuable certification for those working on construction sites in the UK.
This course introduces the legal aspects of health and safety in the construction industry, followed by an exploration of key concepts such as risk assessments and safe working practices. The curriculum examines the most common hazards encountered on construction sites, including working at height, respiratory hazards, and potential risks associated with electrical and chemical exposure. You will be equipped with the foundational knowledge to navigate the challenges of working in a construction environment while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
