Noise Awareness Training
Every year, approximately 17,000 people in the UK experience hearing loss, tinnitus, or other ear-related conditions due to prolonged exposure to excessive workplace noise. While this type of damage is entirely preventable with the right precautions, once hearing is lost, it cannot be restored. This Noise Awareness course provides an understanding of the dangers posed by workplace noise and highlights essential safety considerations. It introduces the fundamental science behind sound, outlines key legislation, and explains workplace noise exposure limits. You will explore the potential health risks associated with excessive noise and discover how to mitigate them through risk assessments, action plans, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Additionally, this Noise Awareness course covers best practices for providing employees with critical safety information and guidance and effective methods for conducting workplace health surveillance. It is beneficial for those working in high-risk industries such as construction, manufacturing, mining, entertainment, hospitality, and metalworking, where noise exposure is a significant concern. One of the core objectives of this course is to emphasise the importance of noise risk assessments and implementing the necessary control measures. This includes strategies such as using protective equipment, reducing exposure duration, and enforcing safety protocols. Understanding the risks and the reasoning behind these precautions enables employees to comply with workplace noise regulations.
This course is approved by IOSH & IIRSM, ensuring it meets industry standards and provides professional development for those seeking to enhance workplace safety.
